UEFA Nations League: Portugal wins first edition....by Jemea Teke Ndumbe


 After defeating Switzerland and England respectively, the Netherlands and Portugal went head-to-head in Porto on Sunday June 9, 2019.


The first half was dominated by the orange boys of Holland with 58 percent ball possession. Portugal though had less ball possession but created more chances in the first half than the dutch.


 Portugal looked more dangerous in the second half as they  dominated most set-pieces with the physical presence of Ronaldo and Fonte.


The deadluck was broken at the 60th minute as 22year old Goncalo Guedes scored what became the winning goal of the game.

Despite the absense of injured Pepe, the defense line of portugal master minded by Jose Fonte and Reuben Dias frustrated and prevented De Jong and his team mates from getting the equalizer.

Final score Portugal 1-0 Netherlands.

Kagawa Mondi, the charismatic play maker: who is he?

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon. The batibo native from Momo division, has been with PWD since 2014. A year after he completed secondary school studies at Government technical high school Bamenda, obtaining a baccalaureate in wood work.
