Religion : Muslims urged to Multiply Prayers for Peace and Unity...by Ingrid Kengne


 The Imam of the Essos Mosque, El Hadj Modibo Halidou Ibrahim, has called  on all Muslims to keep on praying and live together in a bid to promote peace and unity during and after the feast of the Ramadan.

"We told our fellow brothers and sisters to continue praying  for Peace, unity and security to prevail in Cameroon. He reminded them that prayers are meant for everybody, and not just imams."


 He made this statement at the Omni sport esplanade where over 10.000 Muslims from Yaounde V gathered to celebrate the end of the 30
day fasting.

For his part the senior  divisional officer,of Yaounde V, Mamadi Mohamat encouraged his fellow brothers and sisters to pray and keep the spirit of living together, which according to him will help Cameroon achieve her emergence. " No development can come without peace ." He said.




The mayor of Yaounde 5,   Yvette Claudine Ngono expressed joy for having accompanied some of the Muslim faithfuls  in her municipality to  the prayer ground.


Other Muslims said they are happy to have successfully gone via the month of fasting.

The  event took place in the presence of security men, who were there to maintain tranquillity and order.
