Politics : Second Ordinary Session of Parliament Kicks off Today...by Ingrid Kengne

The second ordinary session of Parliament for the 2019 legislative opens today both at the upper and lower houses .

At the National Assembly, the meeting will be starting at 11:00am ,and 4pm at the Senate.

The law markers started arriving Yaounde since yesterday, June 09  where they have been lodged at the deputy and Mount Febe hotels.

Touches, cleanups, and decorations have been made at both houses.

Some parliamentarians who are in Yaounde already are very optimistic as to what they shall be tackling.

This session holds within the context of the anglophone crisis, though both houses have remained mute to it. Some say the head of state has taken appropriate measures to end the conflict already.

However, this setting might be the last for some MPs since legislative elections are upcoming.

Unlike the March session which focused on the elections of bureau members, the crux of this session is yet to be known.

This session coincides with the meeting of the junior parliamentarians who should be making their way to Yaounde for the 29th edition of the day of the African Child.
