Foreign news : Kazakhstan election 500 hundred arrested in pool protest ...by Eyong-eta Eyong


Police in Kazakhstan have arrested about 500 hundred who are protesting against poll election. The country is electing it first president  after THREE decades.


     Election was called after Nursultan Nazarbayev the 78 year old president  step down in March.
     His successor and interim president  Kassym Jomart-Tokayev is expected to win the vote.


   Kazakhstan with  over 12 million registered voters, are voting for Mr Tokayev the former prime minister and present interim president, whose face is the only familiar one among the seven candidates.


The Election Commission reported a turnout is 77 percent by the time polls closed in most of the county, and said it would announce preliminary results on Monday.
