After Nigeria game Africa its first win at the ongoing fifa women's world cup, one thought South Africa will execute the same spirit against China but unfortunately, they were narrowly beaten 1-0.

The South African started the game positively on a defensive perspective but were inefficient going offensive.

Lack of concentration at the defense line of South Africa, gave the chinese the green light to open score through Li at the 40th minute.

Going into half time, the score was 1-0 in china's favour.

Going into the second half, the south africans ones small took the game to the chinese half but were naive in front of goal.

At the 76th minute, there was a penalty appeal as the ball makes contact with the top of Lin Yuping's chest but the referee was unmoved.

The chinese had chances to put the game to bed at the 83rd and 86th minutes through Wang Shuang and Han Peng respectively but were squandered.

It should be noted that south africa had just one shot on target through out the game.

The victory for china confirms Germany's qualification in the second round and needs only a draw against south africa to maintain their top position in group B summit.
