Afcon Egypt 2019: Preview of group F clash, Cameroon vs Ghana....by Jemea Teke Ndumbe


Two giants in the African game will exchange ballistic missiles on Saturday June 29, 2019.

Ghana and Cameroon have a total of 9 afcon titles between them with the Ghana winning four and Cameroon with five titles.


 Ghana go into this game with a dissapointing draw in their opening afcon game as they were held by Benin 2-2 on tuesday. It should be noted that the black stars have never gone back-to-back afcon games without a win  game since 1998 when they lost two back-to-back games against Togo(2-1) and DR Congo (1-0).

 Cameroon on their own part, won a their first game 2-0 against Guinea Bissau. It should be noted that Cameroon is winning her first match in the afcon since 2006.

Both teams have met 8times with Ghana recording 3wins, Cameroon with 2wins and 3draws.

Afcon form:DWDDWW (one draw was won on penalties against Senegal)

Andre Ayew, Assamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew and Christian Astu will be key to Ghana if they are to get the winning formula on Saturday.


Cameroon for their part will have Eric Choupo-Moting, Ambrois Oyongo, Andre Onana and Clinton Njie to get the winning formula for team.

Kagawa Mondi, the charismatic play maker: who is he?

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon. The batibo native from Momo division, has been with PWD since 2014. A year after he completed secondary school studies at Government technical high school Bamenda, obtaining a baccalaureate in wood work.
