Group D of the Africa cup of nations is made up of Morocco, Cote d' Ivoire, South Africa and Namibia. The group pundits see as the group of death.

Morocco:

The atlas lions book their place as group B winners with 11points same with Cameroon but stayed at the summit on goal difference. Malawi and Comoros finished bottom with 5points each.

Herve Renard will be looking for his third afcon as a coach after winning the competition with Zambia in 2012 and Cote d' Ivoire in 2015. A third title for him means he will become the first coach to win the tournament with three different countries.

He will rely on Ajax Amsterdam's Hakim Ziyech who scored three goals during the qualifiers, Leganes striker Youssef El-Nesyri and Borussia Dortmund defender Achraf Hakini to defend the colours of Morocco.

Cote d' Ivoire finished vice in group H with 11point behind Guinea with 12points, Central Africa Rep and Rwanda as bottom teams.

This will be their 23 appearance in the tournament only second to Egypt on appearance tally. The elephants have won the tournament twice in 1992 and 2015 defeating Ghana in penalties in both editions.

Ibrahim Kamara will rely on Eric Bailly, Maxwel Cornet, Seydou Doumbia and Jonathan Kodjia who scored two goals each inthe qualifiers. Crystal palace's Wilfred Zaha will also be one of their pillars to defend the two time champions.

South Africa:

The Bafana bafana finished runners up in group E with 12points behind Nigeria with 13points. Libia and Seychelles with 7 and 1points respectively.

This will be South Africa's 10th appearance in the competition and have won the tournament ones on home soil in 1996.

Stuart Baxter rely on Percy Tau who scored 4goals during the qualifiers, Thulani Serero and captain Thulani Tysou to lead the rainboll nation to glory.

Namibia:

Finished as group K runners with 8points behind Guinea Bisau with 9points, Mosambique with 8points and Zambia with 7points.

This is their third appearance in the competition and have set a historic pace of qualifying for afcon after atleast a decade(1998,2008&2019). They have never crossed the group stage.

Richard Giovanni Mannetti will rely on Peter Shalulile who scored two goals during the qualifiers, midfielder Ronald Ketjijere, Benson Shilongo and defender Denzil Hoaseb to defend the colors of Namibia.
