UN: Security Council discuss anglophone crisis, pioneer time.. By Okie Jah Simon Okie
Despite the reluctance of African institutions and bodies, the United Nations security Council will hold it's first meeting on may 13 .
A meeting which will be first of its kind will focus on" the humanitarian situation" in the conflict hit Northwest and southwest regions of Cameroon ,with external stakeholders in attendance .
A prominent continental news site Jeune Afrique has reported that no text or release of the meeting is expected to be issued at the end of the discussion.
" the security Council has long been interested in what is happening in cameroon , where there is a devastating humanitarian crisis" the US mission to the UN said .
" we hope that this meeting will encourage the call for regional and international response to avoid further deterioration of the situation" the source adddd .
The European Union parliament in one of of it's key resolutions in April , challenged the UN security Council to hold talks on the anglophone crisis and propose concrete solutions to it.
