 In 1891, Dr James Naismith a Canadian-American gym professor in Springfield Massachusetts, United States invented the basketball game.

When winter weather got too icy to play football, teams were taking indoors to play basketball with 5 players on each side.
 The first ball was brown and  was made with a set of laces to close off the hole needed for inserting the inflatable bladder.

In  the 1950s,Tony Hinkle made the orange basketball that is still used today.

 Until 1996,dribbling was not part of the original game.Except to bounce pass ball to teammates.

The baskets were originally nailed on the mezzanine balcony of the play court.And later prove uncomfortable, and the backboard was introduced.

The first game took place in Toronto in November 1,1946 between the Toronto Huskies and New York Knicker backers.

NBA is the top professional league in the world in terms of popularity, salaries, talent and level of competition.



The female integrated the game in 1892 thanks to Senda Barenson,a physical education professor.

Still in 1892, a female game was organized between the University of California and Miss head school.

Woman National Basketball Association(WNBA)came to existence in 1997.

Basketball is one of the top leading game in popularity, salaries, talent and competitions in the world today.

Kagawa Mondi, the charismatic play maker: who is he?

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon. The batibo native from Momo division, has been with PWD since 2014. A year after he completed secondary school studies at Government technical high school Bamenda, obtaining a baccalaureate in wood work. With PWD,  Kagawa is counted amongst the armada of players that helped the team in 2018 to get promoted to top-tier league.
