Ghana : coach Kwesi names 29 provisional men for Afcon preps... By Jemea Teke Ndumbe


 After controversies concerning Gyan Asamoah's future, Ghana's head coach Kwesi Appaih announced his 29 man provisional list for afcon 2019.

The list consist of three defenders, eleven midfielders and five striker. Three home base players were included in the provisional squard : Felix Annan(goalkeeper for asante kotoko,Ghana), Mohammed Alhassan(Hearts of Oak, Ghana) and Abdul Fatawu of Asante kotoko.


 Team regulars like Christian Atsu of newcastle, Andre Ayew of Fenerbache, Gyan Asamoah of Kayserispor and Jordan Ayew are all part of Kwesi Appiah's 29man provisional squard.


It should be noted that Gyan will not be the captain despite president's intervension as pundits say this was thesame senario between Eto'o and Song in 2010 under Paul Marie Le Guen which let to division in the lions den. But with the intervention of president Nana Akufo-Addo, there can be signs of unity in the Ghana squad.

According to the GFA normalization commitee, the team will depart Accra on saturday June 1, for pre tournament preparations in Dubai which will see the coach select his final 23man list to represent Ghana in Egypt next month.


 The normalization commitee also lined up two high profile preparatory matches against Namibia and South Africa.


 Also, Ghana will be with the following backroom staffs: Coach David Duncan(scout), coach Didi Mas-Ud Dramani(scout),coach Sellas Tetteh(scout), Patrick Ofori(pschologist), Samuel Kwame Ankomah(masseur), Jermaine Lopia(video and match analyst) & Simon Compley(physical trainer).


It should be noted that Ghana is drawn in group E of the up coming afcon against defending champion Cameroon, Benin and Guinea Bisau.

Kagawa Mondi, the charismatic play maker: who is he?

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon. The batibo native from Momo division, has been with PWD since 2014.
