Football: Yaya touré resigns from football to embrace coaching Job, Agent says...... By Romeo Nkenyi

The former captain of the Ivorian national team and Manchester City midfielder, yaya touré has retired from professional football and is set to embrace the coaching profession. This information was revealed to BBC by his agent Dimitri Seluk.

Touré has not played any game for his club olympiakos ever since his contract ended in December, 2018 with the Greek side.

Born on May 13,1983 in Bouaké côte d'ivoire, touré joined olympiakos Last summer from Manchester City.  The Ivorian won 3 premiere league tittles,  two league cups and an FA cup with the English club before leaving.

"Yaya touré has decided to terminate his career as a champion", his agent Dimitri Seluk told BBC.

He added that the farewell game Man city granted his client was in principle, the real end of his playing career, not only for the team but in general.

 The decision is coming just a month after ,yaya told BBC in a different interview that he had no immediate plan retiring from soccer. Reiterating that he had ambitions plying his trade in Middle East, United States and even Asia .

Gnégnéri yaya touré is one of the most celebrated footballers in his country and on  the African continent.

Yaya won the african cup of nations in 2015 with his national team, the elephants of côte d'ivoire. He was the captain by then. 


 The 38 year old has been nominated four times African best player of the year. He has had 101 caps with the national outfit, playing three FIFA World Cups in the likes of 2006, 2010 and 2014.

The Ivorian has recorded many successes at international level. 

He won the European champions league in 2009 with FC Barcelona, lifted FA cup in 2011 with Manchester City.

For eight years with Man city,  touré netted 79 goals in 316 appearances.

After resigning from professional football,  yaya touré wishes to have a fruitful parcour in the coaching profession.  This after obtaining a pro coaching licence within two years,  his agent Dimitri Seluk told BBC.

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon.
