Sewing has became one of the professions quickly embraced by  Cameroonian men and  women today.

The skills of the profession are either acquired in professional schools, or directly from tailoring  workshops.

According to Sonna Aurélie, an owner of a tailoring workshop  at Nkoabang  neighborhood in Yaounde, the length of time individuals use  in acquiring these skills varies. Others may master within six months, and others in five years or more.

This profession is a very lucrative one, provided one makes a distinction in his or her style of sewing.

The cost of sewing may vary from 1000frs to 200.000frs and even more. "she added.

Both men and weman, educated and uneducated  are embracing the job today at a higher rate.

This has brought about  competition and saturation into the job market.

This occupation like many others, is not without some difficulties as light is often seized.making it difficult for clothes to be iron, and electric mechiness cannot be functional.

These tailors make more money during funerals, beginning of academic years, Christmas , 11th  February and 20th May celebrations.
