2019 UEFA Champions league Final: A qui la victoire???.... By Jemea Teke Ndumbe


 Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will play the 27th UEFA champions league final. 64th final overall at the wanda metropolitano stadium in Madrid,Spain today  June 1,2019.

Both teams will be meeting for the second time in  Europe. The last time both clubs met was in the 1972-73 UEFA Cup.In semi-finals with Liverpool winning the first leg 1-0 and Spurs winning the second leg 2-1 but Liverpool won on the away goal rule.

            Team Tottenham Hotspur

 This will be the second all English final in 11years and the 7th time two teams from the same association are playing finals of the champions league.

Tottenham  have played 8 matches in Europe against fellow English oppositions and have recorded 4 victories, 1draw and 3 defeats.

                 Spurs head coach

Likewise Liverpool have played 20 matches against English clubs in Europe with 7 wins, 8 draws.One of which they won on penalties and 5 defeats.

This is the 171 competitive meeting between Spurs and the reds with the latter harvesting the lion share of 79 victories, the former with 48 and 43 draws.

It should be noted that both teams suffered defeats during the semi-final first legs. Spurs took a one goal deficit to Amsterdam and beat Ajax 3-2 to qualify for the finals on away goal rule.

                     Team Liverpool

  Liverpool on for their part beat Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield after a 3-0 defeat in the first leg.

Pochettino and Klopp will be looking for their first trophy since their appointments as managers of both clubs.

It should also be noted that this is the first time in five years that no Spanish club is involved in the champions League final.
