 Arsenal and Chelsea will take part in the 48th Europa league final today May 29,2019. The encounter  will be played at the olympic stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan.

This will be the second time two English clubs are playing the Europa League final and the first time two teams from one city are playing the final.

 Both teams will be playing their sixth European finals. Chelsea last played a European final in 2013 when they beat Benfica 2-1 in th Europa league final while Arsenal last played in 2006 when they lost to Barcelona 2-1.

                        Team Chelsea

 Chelsea have played a total of 17matches against fellow English club winning 6 times, 7 draws(two of which they won on penalties) and lost  4. While Arsenal have played English opposition in Europe six times losing 4 times and  drawing 2 .

Both Arsenal and Chelsea met in the Champions league quarter finals in the 2003/04 season where chelsea was the better side as they beat the gunners 2-1 in the second leg after drawing 1-1 in the first leg.

 Both teams have met a total of 198 times with Arsenal recording 76 wins, chelsea 63 wins and 58 draws.

Unai Emery will be looking to win his fouth Europa league title to over take Giovanni Trapattoni who won the competition three times, 1977,1991&1993.

A win for the Arsenal manager will be his fouth title making him the most successful coach in the competition. While chelsea boss Sarri will be looking for his first trophy in his coaching career.

The final comes up tonight  at 8pm.

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon. The batibo native from Momo division, has been with PWD since 2014.
