The president of the Republic of Cameroon Paul Biya, has congratulated the under 17, men's national outfit following their brilliant performance at this year's Africa cup of nations in their category in Tanzania, as they emerge champions.
Mr Biya twitted few minutes after the selection won it's second continental crown, wining Guinea 5goals against 3 after post penalty shout outs. The game had ended on a zero all tie after regular time.
The victory comes 16 years after that of 2003 edition, when the cardet lions defeated sierra Leone , one nil in the final.
Coach Thomas Libby and boys will play this year's under 17 FIFA World Cup that will take place in Brazil from November.
The next U17 AFCON is slated for Morocco come 2021 but in the meantime current champions Cameroon await a state house reception when they return to the country with the trophy.
