Traffic, a serious headache in Douala
Road traffic is one of the major problem wrecking the economic capital of Cameroon, Douala. Rooming the streets of Douala, one will see vehicles and bikes scrambling to have their way by horning.
According to Poufong Valert a bike rider in Ndokoti, the cause of this traffic evolves from those selling besides the road, People stop by them to buy and bikes and cars are not able to pass freely. He added pot holes is another major cause of traffic because it slows down vehicle movement.
Some cars enters pot holes and can't came out if people does not push it out. Some people stubbornly pack their cars beside the road and if a heavy truck came that same road, traffic is bound to be at the time".
Traffic has always had repacutions like accidents, reaching workplace late and even some students lateness in schools is due to road traffic."What is the way out? .
Valer says "If road traffic must be reduced in Douala, especially Ndokoti, those selling beside the road should be evacuated and those packing their cars beside the road should be sanction and the government should do something about the pot holes on the roads".
