Dr James Naismith, basketball founder




Basketball is played in almost or if not all countries of the planet earth today.

The game was created in December 1891 by a Canadian teacher,  Dr James Naismith. The pedagogue invented the sports discipline to condition youth athletes during cold months.

Since the 20th century,  basketball has evolved greatly in America and European countries.

Basketball is integrated in  the American culture , reason why it is the most practiced sport in American schools.

The American national basketball association (NBA) , was established in 1946.

This association has produced a litany of prolific players that  the world can be proud of.  Amongst them features,  Cameroonian born Joel Embiid.

Basketball  is part of international competitions like Olympic Games.

Most often five players are required per team in a local confrontation but in international games seven players are expected to begin a match.

                 Ignatius Fon Echekiye  CRTV's famous sports commentator,  Ignatius Fon Echekiye is now one of the committee members of the international federation of football history and statistics (IFFHS). This was revealed after an election of executive members of the body.  At the end of which His Excellency Saleh Salem Bahwini was relected ,president for the next five years.                  Ignatius Fon Echekiye It is Mr Bahwini's  second successive mandate and it will end on May, 01,2024. Kagawa Mondi, the charismatic play maker: who is he?

Mondi Kagawa is a professional footballer with the Cameroon professional football  league.  He currently ply his trade with Public works department ( PWD) , a division one outfit from the North west regional capital of Cameroon. The batibo native from Momo division, has been with PWD since 2014. A year after he completed secondary school studies at Government technical high school Bamenda, obtaining a baccalaureate in wood work. With PWD,  Kagawa is counted amongst the armada of players that helped the team in 2018 to get promoted to top-tier league. Mondi Kagawa , has netted 3goals so far this season but his charisma as team captain and most especially as midfielder has left many often fall in love with his play style.
